(By registering for the service, you and your designated contacts agree to receive the emails and text messages this service provides for missed check-ins.)
The Social Care Calls are a phone-based service designed to offer companionship and reduce feelings of loneliness, isolation and anxiety among seniors and the elderly, veterans, the disabled, or who may just need someone to listen and have a positive conversation. The service provides a caring conversation with trained volunteers or professionals, offering emotional support and social interaction.
How the Social Care Call Service Works:
Step 1: Schedule Set-Up:
The person in need of the Social Care Call Service helps us select their own call schedule when they call us to sign up, setting them up for social calls as often as every day. We have several flexible plans and pricing to fit your schedule and your budget.
Step 2: Social Care Calls:
Next, they will be called at the selected times for a conversation by our caring conversationalists. The Social Care Calls are a phone-based service designed to offer companionship and reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation among seniors and elderly individuals, veterans, the disabled, and those in need. The service provides a caring, one-on-one conversation with trained volunteers or staff, offering emotional support and social interaction.
Step 3: Notification of Contacts:
As with our check-in calls, if they do not answer the social call at the selected times, we will try again up to three times. If there is still no answer, we will send alerts that the care call was missed. At the customer's choice we will: voice call, email and/or text message the contacts that the user has designated as opting in to receiving emails and text messages for missed care calls. The user may also change their contacts' email or text messages and add or remove additional contacts any time they need. Immediate notifications to contacts if a care call is missed helps to promptly ensure their well-being.
Our Services are specially geared towards seniors, veterans, widows, widowers, the disabled, and the socially isolated.
Scheduled Social Care Calls: Members can sign up for regular, scheduled calls at times that are convenient for them.
Compassionate and Respectful: Each call gives them a chance to talk, share experiences, and connect on a personal level with people that are compassionate for their situation and respectful of their ideas.
Companionship and Conversation: The conversations are centered around positive topics, such as hobbies, current events, memories, family, or simply chatting about the day-to-day. The goal is to make them feel heard and cared for, alleviating the isolation many may feel.
Personalization: We will build a rapport with our individual members and engage them on topics they continually enjoy.
Family Updates: Family members can receive periodic updates (with the member’s consent) on how their loved one is doing and whether any concerns have arisen during the calls. This can give families peace of mind that their relatives are socially connected.
Flexible Options: The service can be flexible to meet different needs—whether it’s a quick social call or a longer, in-depth conversation. For some, the service can also include activities like reading stories.
Reduced Loneliness: Regular social interaction helps combat feelings of isolation and depression that many experience, especially those who live alone or are far from family.
Improved Overall Wellness: Meaningful conversation has been shown to improve cognitive health and emotional well-being, providing a boost to both mood and overall quality of life.
Accessibility: Those who have limited mobility or who do not use social media or technology can still benefit from this service, which only requires a phone. Can be beneficial for those with arthritis, limited vision, or those in recovery from procedures.
Peace of Mind for Families: Knowing their loved one is having regular social interactions helps families feel more secure about their relative’s well-being.
We offer different pricing tiers based on frequency of calls, and duration, ranging from a free service for those in need or living in low-income situations, to a subscription-based model for those who can afford regular support. Funding for our charitable service comes from our paid service fees and from donations.
